Inspiration Award

Audrey Larson, University of Connecticut
Audrey Larson is a Junior at UCONN majoring in Materials Science Engineering. She is the recipient of the IPOEF Inspiration Award for her significant contributions promoting or championing IP rights for, or on behalf of, members of underrepresented communities. Her interest in invention and development of intellectual property began in fourth grade. As a student inventor, Larson was the recipient of two patent awards, which covered legal costs, and enabled her to obtain 2 patents before graduating high school. During the pandemic, Larson started an online inventors club to provide resources, education, and support to young inventors. While at UCONN she has designed her own research project in the area of Sustainable Materials and supports others in innovation through work at Operations and Information Management Innovate, one of UCONN’s makerspaces.
